Ingredients: 1 pineapple with fresh and full set of leaves;
1 apple;
powdered sugar;
cranberries or other wildberries
Instructions: Cut pineapple crosswise 3 inches from leafy top. Cut 2 side pieces off remaining fruit, leaving a 1/2 inch thick slice in the middle, attache to core of leaves. Use a star cutter to mark the shape of a star into one side, just above the leaves. The cutter will not pass through pineapple. Cut fruit away from star shape with a paring knife, leaving pineapple star attache to base of leaves. Use apple as a base on wich to stan tree. Cut a slice off wider end of apple and set it on this cut side. Stick 1 or 2 skewers straight down through the apple and slip the tree, star side up, onto skewers. Dust tree with powdered sugar. You may also want to string cranberries with a little piece of toothpick and thread, and wind garland of cranberries around the tree. (Source: "Garnishing.
